26 MAY - 2 JUN 2021 | 8 DAYS
This epic eight-day Coral Coast road-trip is packed full of exciting activities and is sure to be popular, so book early! On arrival in Geraldton, the largest town between Perth and Darwin – known for its long maritime history, beautiful beaches and thriving cafe culture – you’ll drop into the stunning HMAS Sydney II Memorial, now designated as a national memorial before exploring the town centre. From here, you'll visit the twin towns of Dongara/Port Denison, separated by the lovely Irwin River, to experience the historic Fisherman's Trail. A few hours further north takes you to the seaside town of Denham, gateway to Shark Bay, where there’s every chance you’ll see some thrombolites, not to mention free-roaming emus! A short drive away is Monkey Mia Beach, which has been visited by bottlenose dolphins almost daily for more than 40 years, making it one of Australia’s most famous wildlife encounters, and giving you the chance of a lifetime to feed wild dolphins. Just across the peninsula, you’ll also visit the award-winning, eco-friendly Ocean Park Aquarium where you’ll learn about ocean sustainability and conservation and see shark feeding, stingrays, turtles and fish. Rounding off the day is a sunset wildlife cruise to spot dugongs, turtles, rays, dolphins and sharks. Back in Denham, you’ll get the chance to visit the Shark Bay World Heritage Discovery and Visitor Centre. This action-packed road trip truly has it all!
